Artist's Comments
A simple red sash, with lace trim. This particular sash is worn by Gwendolyn Ainsworth, the aetherist aboard the privateer airship Halifax Bonaventure. Red sashes are the closest thing the crew has to a uniform, and tend to be made of whatever fabric is at hand (or can be stolen).
Some red costume satin and pregathered lace. I ran out of lace before I could do a full second ruffle on both ends, but I don't really care. My sewing machine dislikes the fabric and pinning the lace onto the end was quite tedious. Unfortunately, this was the best picture I could get. You really aren't missing much, though. |
